Overview
To guide our efforts our Blueprint for Change focuses on the transformation needed in three areas of medical research:
We believe the resources and infrastructure that drive and support medical research can work faster and more efficiently. To achieve this goal, we must:
- Increase patient and physician participation in clinical trials
- Promote medical records and biospecimen databases to facilitate researchers' access to valuable information
- Support efforts to build capacity and improve effectiveness at the FDA
- Document and share best and/or innovative practices for funding and conducting innovative research
- Promote the translation of basic research findings into therapeutic breakthroughs
- Develop a more transparent information marketplace around medical research to help facilitate the flow of philanthropic and business investment to the most promising research
